Heart and Lung Transplantation

Support Programs

The Heart Institute at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh offers support programs for children and parents:

Heart Camp is for children ages 8 through 16 who have heart conditions, including heart transplant patients. Campers can enjoy typical camp activities, while interacting with their doctors and nurses in a non-medical setting.

Heart-to-Heart Family Picnic is a social event where patients and parents meet other families dealing with a heart condition. Families also have the opportunity to meet and talk in an informal, relaxed atmosphere. Physicians, staff, and friends of the Heart Institute at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh attend and are available to take questions and offer guidance to kids and their families.
