Thank A Nurse

Want to say thank you to your nurse? The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day.

Nominate a deserving nurse.

“Praise from Patients” provides patients, parents and other family members with an opportunity to recognize staff members at Children’s Hospital who have created a positive patient experience. We would like to hear your stories of outstanding customer service, quality patient care and random acts of kindness.

All staff of Children’s Hospital may be recognized – a nurse, a social worker or a volunteer – as well as non-staff whose primary role focuses on providing services at the hospital or a neighborhood location.

How Do I Recognize Staff?

Was there a nurse, therapist, physician, housekeeper, or other staff member who made an impression on you here at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh? Maybe they made you feel comfortable by explaining a procedure, brought you a warm blanket, or offered a smile and kind words whenever you interacted.

We want to know if a staff member’s everyday actions and level of compassion exceed the high level of service that you expect from UPMC Children’s.

Staff who are recognized by this program are personally acknowledged and thanked by their manager or supervisor.

Forms are also available at the drop boxes located throughout the hospital or a neighborhood location. Completed forms can be submitted via the drop boxes or through the mail.

On a monthly basis, the Human Resources Department will honor employees acknowledged by patients with a Certificate of Recognition.
