The Welcome/Information Center
The Welcome/Information Center is on Floor 1 of the main hospital. At the Welcome/Information Center, your family can obtain directions, visitor badges, and other information about our hospital. Contact the Welcome/Information Center staff at 412-692-7240 (692-7240 from a hospital phone).
Wayfinding
We’ve made it easy for children, families, and visitors to find their way around UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. All wayfinding and directional signage throughout the hospital is standardized using an easy-to-understand, kid- and family-friendly system.
Below, you can also find printable maps of our main floors (1, 2, and 3) as well as for floor 6 of the hospital where our many of our inpatient amenities including the Eat N’ Park Atrium, Howard Hanna Healing Garden, Dream Big Studio, Family Resource Center, and more, are located.
Visitor Elevator Guide
The two primary banks of guest elevators are designated as “Grape” and “Orange.” The Grape elevators are connected to our underground Penn Garage and serve floors P2–4 of the hospital. These elevators are primarily for outpatients.
Our Orange elevators, located to the left of the Welcome/Information Center serve floors B–9 of the hospital. These elevators are primarily for inpatients and guests must receive an ID badge at the Welcome/Information Center in order to access these elevators.
Hospital Entrances
UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh has several entrances. To ensure safety, our main entrance (at Penn Avenue) has restricted access from 10:30 p.m.—6 a.m. each day.
Our other entrances listed below are accessible 24/7:
- Mid-Campus (at Transformation Corridor) — Public Safety is stationed here from 10:30 p.m.—6 a.m. daily
- Grape Elevators (from Penn Garage)
- Emergency and After-Hours
