PITTSBURGH — UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation announced today the launch of a comprehensive campaign, “This Moment: Put a Child’s Future First”, the largest fundraising effort in the history of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
With the overall goal of $200 million, the campaign for UPMC Children’s will expand tools and technology to advance clinical care, accelerate innovative research, elevate the patient and family experience, and address health disparities to ensure expert care is accessible to every child and family who needs it.
“The last time our hospital embarked upon a campaign, the funds we raised enabled us to build our beautiful, state-of-the-art hospital in Lawrenceville,” said Rachel Petrucelli, president, UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Now, as one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation, our vision is to drive advancements that can transform pediatric health care as we know it.”
The campaign has already raised $147 million and is led by campaign co-chairs, Vanessa and David Morehouse, Diane and Cliff Rowe, and Joan and Peter Stephans.
“Philanthropy empowers UPMC Children’s to go above and beyond in the expert care we provide to our patients and families,” said Diane Hupp, president, UPMC Children’s. “These dollars will make a profound difference in their experiences and long-term outcomes now and in the future.”
“Whether you’re a community leader, a business owner, the family of a child who’s received care at UPMC Children’s, a longtime donor to our hospital, or a community member feeling inspired to give — I think we are all united in the belief that there is nothing more important than the health and well-being of our kids,” added Petrucelli.
