McKayla
Hi, this is Casyn and my name's McKayla. We found out that Casyn had Ebstein's at her 20 week gestational scan. After we heard from the children's doctors, that they didn't have much that they could do. It's pretty hard to hear when they just tell us that they'll keep her comfortable when she's born.

My sister is actually the one who found Dr. da Silva, and read about him and saw that he created the cone procedure, and that he's specialized in Ebstein's. We were relieved to see that somebody knows something about what she has. When they got back to us, Dr. da Silva actually called us and said, "I can fix it."

And when he said that, we packed our bags and we moved across the country to Pittsburgh. We moved 24 hours away from our hometown, two weeks before Casyn was born. It was a rough journey to move and you're about to give birth in a new city. It was chaotic for a long time.

Once we were there, we felt a sense of relief. Casyn was born, she was very sick in the beginning. It was a rough time for a while, but we were just so blessed to be able to find a team that could do something and intervene, and that could save her life.

We're just so blessed that we were able to find Pittsburgh in the whole UPMC cardiac team. It's just amazing what they can do. And we're just so relieved and happy that they're trying to spread more info out there to other people. It's a really great thing and we're very happy.

Casyn is just wild woman now. You would never, ever expect that she was ever so sick in the beginning. It's amazing. We're so blessed and we love the whole team that helped us get to where we are today. Can you say, "We're thankful?"
Casyn
Thankful.
