Diagnosing Strokes in Children
Children’s Hospital’s Brain Care Institute offers the latest neuroimaging technology and testing. Each patient receives a thorough neurological evaluation with special imaging studies to determine the cause of his or her stroke and assist in diagnosis and treatment. Families are educated on treatment options and are given information related to the child’s prognosis.
Pediatric Stroke Treatment and Recovery
The Brain Care Institute’s Stroke Program offers a regularly scheduled stroke clinic coordinated by a pediatric neurologist with special expertise in pediatric stroke treatment. Close affiliations with the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery, the Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, the Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine, and the Child Development Unit offer further comprehensive care and treatment options.
