Diagnosing Spasticity and Movement Disorders

Some movement disorders have effective tests to confirm the condition, while others do not. In some cases, genetic, molecular, and/or metabolic testing can quickly diagnose movement or spasticity disorders. Those conditions that cannot be determined by these tests must be diagnosed using the clinical expertise of a movement disorder specialty.

Before surgery is considered, a battery of tests may be conducted using our state-of-the-art neuroimaging, neurophysiology, and laboratory technologies. These may include:
