Some movement disorders have effective tests to confirm the condition, while others do not. In some cases, genetic, molecular, and/or metabolic testing can quickly diagnose movement or spasticity disorders. Those conditions that cannot be determined by these tests must be diagnosed using the clinical expertise of a movement disorder specialty.
