UPMC Children’s Orthopaedic Urgent Care

Fast diagnosis and treatment for kids with bone, muscle, and joint injuries

Weekdays 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Bone and joint injuries in children can be complicated. If your child breaks a bone, pulls a muscle, or twists a knee, prompt treatment by a pediatric orthopaedic specialist helps ensure the best recovery.

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Orthopaedic Urgent Care offers immediate access to pediatric orthopaedic specialists, at one visit. No appointments — walk-ins only.

Important: If your child has been x-rayed and splinted at UPMC Children's Express Care location, please call Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at 412-692-5530 to make an appointment for daytime clinic instead of coming to Orthopaedic Urgent Care.

Orthopaedic Urgent Care Means:

  • Less waiting: Our pediatric orthopaedic specialists provide on-the-spot injury treatment for minor musculoskeletal injuries. If your child has a severe injury, a transfer to UPMC Children’s Emergency Department can be made without delay.
  • Convenient: No appointment is needed. All care is provided right at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Lawrenceville.
  • Pediatric experts: Growing bones, joints, and muscles need the right care. Our pediatric orthopaedic specialists provide diagnosis and treatment of minor broken bones, sprains, and strains. If needed, on-the-spot splinting and casting is available.
  • We partner with your pediatrician: Your pediatrician or family doctor will receive a complete report of the care we deliver and details on any follow-up needed.
