Parent-to-Parent Connection

UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Division of Pediatric Rheumatology’s Parent-to-Parent Connection is a program for parents and families with a child who has been newly diagnosed with a chronic illness or for those who would like to connect with other families who have a child living with the same chronic illness.

Please call Jessica Standish, Rheumatology social worker, at 412-692-5258 to join this group. Jessica will contact you within one week with the name and e-mail and/or phone number of another family who has given UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh permission for you to contact them.

When you call, be prepared to provide:

  • Your name
  • Your child’s name
  • The child’s disease
  • Why you are interested in speaking with another family (i.e., newly diagnosed illness, medication questions, support)
  • Your preferred contact information, such as home/cell phone numbers
