Research Interests
The research interests of Gary Kohanbash, PhD, are focused on advancing immunotherapy for children and adults with central nervous system tumors. Through his research, he has identified novel pathways of immunosuppression in gliomas, and he has participated as an investigator in numerous phase I/II immunotherapy clinical trials. He currently leads the initiatives of the Pediatric Neurosurgery ImmunoOncology Lab, and his work has been recognized by the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer, the Translational Research Cancer Center Consortium, and the Japanese Society for Brain Tumor Pathology, to name a few.
