Information for Researchers

Led by Silva Arslanian, MD, the Pediatric Clinical and Translational Research Center (PCTRC) is a focal point for clinical research within UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. It is a component of the University of Pittsburgh’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), which is led by Stephen Reis, MD. The PCTRC is supported as part of the Participant and Clinical Interactions Resources (PCIR) core of the CTSI. The PCTRC was formerly known as the General Clinical Research Center, or GCRC. The name change is reflective of the change in funding to the Clinical and Translational Science Award of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences.

The PCTRC provides the resources they need to conduct clinical research under controlled circumstances, and encourages collaboration among basic and clinical scientists through studies that may translate into new or improved patient care methods. View our current areas of study.
