Due to the high volume of requests that we receive to shadow or observe in our clinics, individuals must be at least a high school graduate. If individuals are interested in a shadowing experience with a genetic counselor, or if they are a current student at an accredited ABGC Training site and interested in completing a clinical rotation at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, requests should be emailed to GCshadowing@chp.edu.
Shadowing experiences and clinical internships require certain health screening requirements, vaccinations, paperwork, and clearances to be obtained before we are able to schedule these opportunities. We encourage individuals to reach out at least 3 months in advance to our office to allow time to obtain these necessary documents beforehand.
