The Center for Independence offers many programs for children and teens that are meant to improve the self-reliance of young people who have behavioral, communication, cognitive, and/or physical challenges. Our programs are designed to prepare him or her to participate to the best of their abilities in meaningful experiences as they transition through life.
The goals are:
- Developing the child’s functional skills to promote self-reliance
- Developing language and cognitive (thinking) development to the best of the child’s ability
- Enhancing the child’s exercise and physical activity levels
- Enhancing the child’s behavior and mental health
The staff of the Center for Independence will work with you to determine if your child may be a candidate for a program or programs at the center.
Parents must stay on-site for the duration of the classes.
